CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

We are committed to providing comprehensive classes that are safe, effective and enjoyable. We offer pilates, yoga, zumba, step, aerobics classes and more. They are a perfect fit for those new to fitness who can benefit from modifications, to the advanced who want a challenge, and all others in between. Class size is kept to a moderate number to ensure the quality and attention our members deserve. All instructors are carefully selected, with proper training and certification. Their goal is to give participants guidance and support to feel comfortable in a class setting and successful with their workout. If you have never attended a Trim Up class, you will see the difference!

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the U.S. and we offer a variety of ways to protect your body and keep your heart strong. Our cardio classes will also build endurance, burn fat and calories, boost metabolism and increase energy. With NO complicated choreography to stress over, you can work at your own pace with easy to follow moves, great music and motivating instructors.

Cardio! Conditioning! Core! Designed to be user-friendly, this unique combo of exercise with hand-held weights will leave your heart pumping and muscles toned.
Low Impact Low Impact Aerobics at a slower pace.  Easy to follow moves - great for beginners!
Step Strength The best of both worlds! Step Strength is a fusion of step for a great cardio workout with equal time for resistance training.
Zumba Burn calories while having FUN! Zumba is a high-energy cardio class includes Latin, Hip-Hop & Middle Eastern dance for anyone who likes to “shake things up”

STRENGTH – CORE STABILITY

We will also include some non-cardiovascular conditioning class formats that will focus on strength and stability training. This type of class will help to increase bone density, increase metabolism, and create more muscle definition. The more muscle you have, the more efficiently you will burn fat, prevent injury, improve healing and increase stamina. You can change the shape of your body!

Group Strength Training Group Strength Training involves small group interval training in our weight room using machines, free weights, kettlebells, balls, steps and bands.
Pilates Mat The Pilates method of controlled movements will improve overall body strength, flexibility and posture with emphasis on core stability (abs).

MIND & BODY

Yoga Yoga, which derives its name from the word “yoke” - to bring together - does just that, bringing together the mind, body and spirit. Some people find that the physical practice of yoga becomes a gateway into a spiritual exploration, while others just enjoy a wonderful low-impact workout that makes them feel great.

Yoga is about creating balance in the body by developing both strength and flexibility. This is done with poses or postures, each of which has specific physical benefits. The poses can be done quickly in succession, creating heat in the body through movement (flow-style) or more slowly to perfect the alignment of the pose (deep stretch). Yoga teachers will often refer to “your practice”, which means your individual experience. With yoga as it develops over time. The amazing thing about yoga is that your practice is always evolving and changing, so it never gets boring.

Although the poses themselves do not change, your relationship to them will. Anyone can start a yoga practice, even if you don't feel like you are very flexible or strong. This will develop over time and “your practice” is about just doing your best on any given day.
